Main application window

Postby TechSupport » Tue Oct 12, 2004 12:39 am

The main window in an application created with Phoenix is always modeless. That is, you cannot designate all windows in an application as modal if the module is not a Dynamic Link Library(DLL). The main window is serviced by the main message loop of the application.

The main window does not have to be the first window your application displays. For example, you can display a splash screen (modeless or modal window) or a data entry window (modal window) when the application starts.
To display a splash screen or data entry window when your application starts, place the function to create the start up window in the <project name>_InitApplication function. The <project name>_InitApplication function is in the programmer accessible block of the main design file, <project name>.bas.
